From July 6th-July 9th, Advisor Websites was down in Orlando, Florida, at Financial Network's Connect Conference. Although this obviously wasn't Financial Network's first ever annual conference, it was the first time it was held under the name Connect.
Connect is a fitting name considering the direction that Financial Network is heading. The conference serves as a platform for Financial Network representatives from all over the United States to come together and connect with each other, learning from what other firms are doing to grow their business.
Connect also represents the way that Financial Network representatives are going to be able to connect using social media. During the conference, it was announced that in a couple months, they were going to follow the lead of other broker dealers such as LPL, Cambridge Investment Research, and Morgan Stanley, and allow their advisors to connect using social media. Although details about the announcement haven't been finalized, it will be interesting to see how they implement it. Will they take the approach of allowing advisors to tweet from a selection of pre-approved content, or will they take a more open approach? Only time will tell. Are you excited? We know we are!
